Squad Announced For Oldham Clash

August 19, 2022

Cornwall RLFC head coach Neil Kelly has named his 21-man squad for Sunday’s Betfred League 1 round 20 clash at home to Oldham Roughyeds.

The match is the last for Cornwall in our debut professional campaign leaving one further away match before the season ends – on the road to Midlands Hurricanes on Sunday, September 4.

Last time out, Cornwall were defeated 34-14 at Rochdale Hornets and despite having three players – Nathan Cullen, Jack Ray and Coby Nichol – sent to the sin bin at Spotland, while Cole Connolly saw red, no players were handed extra punishments by the Rugby Football League’s Match Review Panel (MRP)

Although boosted by the no further action rulings from the MRP, Kelly is forced to do without loan trio Louis Collinson, Adam Rusling and Cullen.

Collinson has been recalled by his parent club Batley Bulldogs while Rusling and Cullen are required by Super League outfit Hull Kingston Rovers.

However, in better news for the Memorial Ground chief, both Liam Whitton and Josh Hartshorne have returned to full fitness. Decarlo Trerise and Nathan Conroy are back in contention after they were unavailable for the trip to Spotland.

There is also a welcome return for hooker Jake Lloyd who makes his first squad appearance since he suffered a suspected dislocated elbow on May 15 against West Wales Raiders.
