Purcell Wins May Try of the Month Award

Joe Purcell’s first half score against Swinton Lions has been voted May’s Try of the Month after a poll on the club’s official Twitter handle.
Playing out of position on the wing due to Henry Symons’ eleventh hour withdrawal against the Lions, Purcell crossed the whitewash right on the half time siren at Heywood Road.
The former Wigan Warriors academey man showed great footwork to cut inside before dotting down underneath the posts.
Out of the votes cast, Purcell triumphed with 41 per cent. Adam Rusling’s intercept effort in the same game took second place while Harry Aaronson’s try against Hunslet took third.
