Matchday Guide – North Wales Crusaders

August 5, 2022

North Wales Crusaders are at the Mem this Sunday – Patrick Tod

Cornwall RLFC welcome promotion chasing North Wales Crusaders to the Memorial Ground this Sunday, August 7, 3.00pm.

Two Betfred League 1 points are up for grabs in the Choughs’ penultimate home match in 2022 along with the Celtic Shield, which is held by the Crusaders.

The two sides met in Cornwall RLFC’s first ever match back on April 2 in Colwyn Bay.

The Choughs were defeated 62-22, but performed valiantly in scoring four tries with Matty Turton, Harry Aaronson, Liam Whitton and Sam Snell crossing the whitewash.

Since that historic day on April 2, Cornwall have picked up one league victory – 24-4 at West Wales Raiders on June 25. For North Wales, they have remained in the promotion picture all season and will be looking for elevation to the Championship via the play-offs.

Last time out, Cornwall were defeated 44-6 at London Skolars while for North Wales, they were 29-16 winners at Oldham Roughyeds.

Anthony Murray’s side are second in the League 1 standings, four points behind leaders Keighley who have a game in hand. Cornwall, meanwhile, are 11th in the table.
