Match Preview – North Wales (h)

March 23, 2024

Cornwall RLFC host North Wales Crusaders in the Choughs’ season opener in front of their own fans.

However, owing to potential issues with the Memorial Ground pitch, this game will be played at Truro College, with a severely restricted crowd.

All tickets have been issued for this game and there will be no option to pay on the gate.

Last time out, Cornwall travelled to Keighley Cougars and the Choughs went down 56-12. Ellis Robson led the way for Keighley, but Cornwall were competitive throughout and on another day, would have gained more for their endeavours than just 12 points.

We’ve Met Before:

Cornwall’s last encounter with North Wales resulted in arguably the club’s most dramatic match in its two year history.

A blistering opening 40 minutes saw Cornwall score seven triees to lead 40-4. But after the turnaround, the Crusaders, aided by a trio of Warrington Wolves players signed on dual registration, almost pulled off an unlikely comeback.

Cornwall held on, just, to win 40-38.
