Match Preview – London Skolars (a)

July 7, 2023

Cornwall RLFC travel to the capital today to face current Betfred League 1 basement dwellers London Skolars.

Ahead of this Betfred League 1 Round 16 clash against Joe Mbu’s side, here is all your essential pre-match information.

Squad Selection

Cornwall RLFC have named their 21-man squad for tomorrow’s (Saturday) Betfred League 1 clash away to current basement dwellers London Skolars.

In a repeat or revenge fixture, the Choughs will be looking for an historical first ever league double after defeating the capital outfit 35-10 at the Memorial Ground in March.

For London, they will be looking to avenge that reverse here in the Duchy and in doing so, pick up a first win of 2023.

All six of head coach Mike Abbott’s new signings make the travelling party. Ewan Badham, Morgan Punchard and Callum Abbott have made permanent moves to the Mem, while Jaden Barraclough, Sean Croston and Nathan Newbound all join on season-long loans.

Cornishman George Mitchell has recovered from a hamstring injury while Adam Rusling has shaken off an ankle knock.

After carrying injuries before Cornwall’s recent mini-break, David Weetman, Nathan Cullen and Luke Collins are all back to 100 per cent.

However, Harry Aaronson and Josh Hartshorne are both unavailable while Jack Ray remains on the sidelines as he returns to full fitness.
