Loganair Squad Announcement For North Wales Clash

June 28, 2024

Cornwall RLFC head coach Mike Abbott has named his 21-man squad for Sunday’s Betfred league 1 round 14 clash at home to North Wales Crusaders.

This game will now kick-off at 1.00pm after both clubs agreed, along with approval from the Rugby Football League, to bring the start time forward by two hours, owing to the England football team playing at 5.00pm against Slovakia in Euro 2024.

The Choughs will be looking to build on an encouraging showing against league leaders Keighley Cougars last time out. Aaron Small, one of Cornwall’s main protagonist’s from a fiery Memorial Ground clash misses out due as he is unavailable, along with halfback Adam Rusling.

However, Cornwall are boosted with the return of Tom Ashton and Morgan Punchard to the matchday 21, along with Kyle Marvin.

Samoan prop Tomo Clark will make his debut if selected with Harry Boots rated as 50/50 to feature against the Crusaders.

Also up front, Matt Ross is available to play as his one match suspension will not kick in until after this round of fixtures is completed.

“We didn’t start very well against Keighley but finished that game well with some real intensity,” head coach Abbott told

“I want us to continue that against Wales and we know what kind of challenge we face. When we played them earlier in the season, our own errors and discipline saw us struggle, but when we sorted that side of things out, we gave them a good game.”
