Cornwall RLFC second-row Sam Snell has been handed a one-match ban after being found guilty of dangerous contact (Grade B offence) in last Sunday’s 60-14 defeat to Midlands Hurricanes.

However, the 31-year-old, who has scored two tries in as many games for the Choughs this season, is available for selection in tomorrow’s round four Betfred League 1 clash at Doncaster.

His suspension will come into force for Cornwall’s round five match at Oldham Roughyeds on Sunday, April 24.

In a statement, the Rugby Football League said: “A defending player (Snell) makes contact with an opponent after the ball has been released by an opponent in a vulnerable position which causes flexion to the head, neck or spinal column on an attacking player, which poses an unacceptable risk to that player.”
