Disciplinary: Operational Rules Tribunal

February 22, 2024

Cornwall RLFC can confirm that Josh Hartshorne has received a three-match ban and a £60 fine, after the Rugby Football League’s operational rules tribunal met yesterday (Wednesday).

Hartshorne was dismissed in the 60th minute of the recent Betfred Challenge Cup third round tie against York Acorn for punching.

The Cornwall prop was then charged with a grade E offence by the RFL’s match review panel, and his case would be subsequently heard by the tribunal.

Although the range of penalty for a grade E offence is a suspension of four to six games, Hartshorne received a three-game ban. In mitigation, the club presented a detailed, balanced and factual case surrounding the incident.

Hartshorne will miss Cornwall’s opening three Betfred League 1 matches against Keighley Cougars, North Wales Crusaders and Oldham.
