Disciplinary: Match Review Panel

May 9, 2024

Cornwall’s Morgan Punchard hs been suspended for two games and fined £40 for his red card in Sunday’s defeat to Rochdale Hornets.

In the 32nd minute of the match, Punchard was sent for an early bath for an alleged offence of punching, after clashing with Ben Killan.

The incident was watched by the Rugby Football League’s Match Review Panel, who charged Punchard with a Grade D offence. Killan, meanwhile, was not charged for his involvement in the tackle leading to the melee.

Punchard is free to play in Sunday’s Betfred League 1 clash away to Midlands Hurricanes, whilst missing matches at home to Oldham (May 19) and away to former club Hunslet (May 26).

Meanwhile, in the same game, Rochdale’s Aidan Roden was charged with a Grade B offence of head contact. He was fined £40, but was not handed a suspension.
