Cornwall RLFC duo Josh Hartshorne and Coby Nichol have both been charged with offences by the Rugby Football League’s Match Review Panel (MRP).

The offences took place in the Choughs’ Betfred Challenge Cup round three tie against York Acorn on Saturday, February 11.

Hartshorne has been handed a Grade E ‘punching’ charge after being sent off in the 60th minute of the Acorn clash. Hartshorne’s case has been referred to tribunal.

Nichol, meanwhile, has been handed a Grade B ‘head contact’ charge and fined £40 after a high tackle in the 77th minute, which saw the former Bradford man sent to the sin bin.

Cornwall pair Liam Whitton and Morgan Punchard also had cases of taking control away from the referee and punching respectively, referred to the MRP, but no further action was taken.

In the same match, Acorn’s Matt Chilton was referred for a professional foul and Ed Prescott for taking control away from the referee. No further action was taken against the York pair.
