Disciplinary – Match Review Panel

March 30, 2023

Cornwall captain Jack Ray has been charged with a Grade B offence of ‘Late Contact on Passer’ after Sunday’s Betfred League 1 victory over London Skolars.

Ray has been fined £40 but won’t face any suspension. This means that the former Castleford academy graduate is free to play in Cornwall’s next match against Doncaster on Saturday, April 8.

Ray’s front row team mate Brad Howe was also subject to the Match Review Panel for a charge of ‘Dangerous Contact’. However, the former Redruth rugby union man’s actions were deemed to entirely reasonable, and injury suffered by his opponent was accidental.

For the Skolars, Jacob Thomas’ charge of ‘Dangerous Contact’ on Kaine Dimech, in an incident that led to Cornwall’s first try, wasn’t upheld due to unclear footage.

However, the 78th minute yellow card shown to Skolars interchange Shane Lee for a Grade C ‘Dangerous Contact’ charge was upheld. Lee has been handed a one-game suspension.
