Disciplinary – Match Review Panel

August 26, 2022

Cornwall RLFC hooker Nathan Conroy – Patrick Tod

Nathan Conroy will miss Cornwall RLFC’s final match of the 2022 Betfred League 1 season through suspension.

The hooker was charged with a Grade B offence of dangerous contact during Cornwall’s 32-12 home defeat to Oldham last Sunday.

And when the Rugby Football League Match Review Panel met earlier this week, Conroy was handed a one game suspension which rules him out of the Choughs’ trip to Portway on September 4.

The MRP ruled that Conroy used any part of his body forcefully to twist, bend or otherwise apply pressure to the limb or limbs of an opposing player in a way that involves an unacceptable risk of injury to that player.

Meanwhile, from the same match, Oldham’s Sean Slater was handed down a two match ban for a dangerous throw on Harry Aaronson which resulted in the Roughyeds’ hooker sent to the sin bin by referee Nick Bennett.

Oldham’s James Thornton was not penalised further after he was referred to the MRP for dangerous contact.
