Disciplinary – Match Review Panel

June 9, 2022

Cornwall RLFC prop Anthony Mullally has been handed a one match penalty notice after the recent 24-20 loss to London Skolars.

Former Super League Grand Final winner Mullally was charged with dangerous contact in the Betfred League 1 round 10 clash.

The Rugby Football League’s Match Review Panel (MRP) subsequently met and Mullally was sanctioned.

The minutes of the meeting said: “Defending player (Mullally), in or after effecting a tackle, uses any part of their body forcefully to bend or apply unnecessary pressure to the head and/or neck and/or spinal column of the tackled player so as to keep the tackled player at a disadvantage in or after the tackle.”

Meanwhile, three incidents involving London Skolars players during their victory over Cornwall were also referred to the MRP.

Michael Greenhalgh was charged with a Grade D offence of punching and has been referred to a tribunal. He was sent to the sin bin for the incident by match referee James Jones.

Luciano Bejanidze was also shown a yellow card for dissent by merry whistle blower Jones after throwing the ball at Harry Aaronson. He was charged with other contrary behaviour but will receive no further action.

Judd Greenhalgh, like Bejanidze, spent time in the sin-bin against Cornwall. His 10-minute sabbatical came after a high tackle on Louis Collinson and was charged with a high tackle. He will receive no further action.
