New Cornwall RLFC signing Kyle Marvin

Cornwall RLFC are delighted to announce the signing of Kyle Marvin for the 2023 Betfred League 1 campaign.

The 23-year-old, who holds dual Canadian and British citizenship, is comfortable playing as an outside back in the centre or on the wing.

He has previously represented clubs in England and Canada, whilst also playing rugby union whilst residing in North America. Most notably, Marvin has experience in the National Conference League with Rochdale Mayfield – Cornwall’s first ever Betfred Challenge Cup opponents.

“This is my first experience of playing at League 1 and it has always been an ambition of mine to do so,” Marvin told cornwallrlfc.co.uk.

“I’ve been following Cornwall since the club was formed and I see the opportunity to play for them as the perfect opportunity to dip my toe into the professional ranks.

“I want to prove myself and so far the lads have been brilliant with me. We have a great group and I can’t wait to see where the season will go for Cornwall and me personally.”

Meanwhile, Cornwall RLFC head coach Mike Abbott, added: “Kyle has experience playing rugby league in both England and Canada.

“He’s played a few games at NCL level which, as we saw first hand last year, is a very good standard of football.

“Kyle has been training with the lads for a few weeks now and like so many of our additions over the close season, can give us cover in more than one position.”
