Cornwall Sign Aaron Small For 2024 Campaign
January 21, 2024
Cornwall RLFC are delighted to announce the signing of former London Skolars captain Aaron Small, for the Betfred League 1 season.
The 32-year-old centre was a mainstay for the capital outfit and he made 14 appearances overall, scoring four tries in 2023.
In 2022, Small reached double figures in the try scoring charts for the Skolars as they enjoyed a successful season and a league double over the Choughs.
Small has also played in the third tier for the Hemel Stags and he joins former Skolars Matt Roos, Liam O’Callaghan, Malikhi Lloyd-Jones and Errol Carter in the Cornwall ranks for 2024.
“Cornwall are an exciting team,” Small told cornwallrlfc.co.uk. “For what will be their third professional season, the club are showing further signs of progression and hopefully I can help the side win more games than last season.
“I think the club can keep growing and I am excited about playing in a new team with new faces. It is an exciting league itself with a lot of big rugby league names coming to play in League 1.”
Meanwhile, cornwallrlfc.co.uk head coach Mike Abbott, added: “Aaron has bags of experience at this level and that will help our squad massively. To have a player that has captained a team at this level in our ranks is invaluable.
“Aaron is strong in both attack and defence and whenever he’s come up against Cornwall previously, we have found him to be a real thorn in our side.”
