Cornwall Name Squad for Keighley Clash

July 15, 2022

Cornwall RLFC head coach Neil Kelly has named his 21-man squad for Sunday’s Betfred League 1 round 15 clash at Keighley Cougars – 1.00pm.

The Choughs will face off against the league leaders without full-back Liam Whitton (hamstring), Josh Hartshorne (calf) and Jack Ray (unavailable).

Sam Snell, Paul Bolger and Christopher Chard come back into Kelly’s squad after missing the recent home reverse at the hands of Doncaster.

Aaron Thomson will also be pushing for inclusion now he has recovered from a slight hamstring strain picked up before last month’s victory over West Wales Raiders. The German-born Scot has not featured since he suffered a knee injury in the late April defeat at Oldham Roughyeds.

There is also a place in the travelling party for Cornwall’s longest away trip of the campaign for recent recruit Jacob Beer. The back-row forward, if selected by Kelly, will make his competitive first team rugby league debut at Cougar Park.

Bradford prop Marcus Green keeps his place in the squad due the dual-registration agreement between Cornwall and the Bulls. Green is joined in the squad by his Odsal team mate Jayden Myers. The winger has already appeared twice for Cornwall this season, scoring a try in an Easter Saturday clash at Doncaster.
