Cornwall Name Squad For Crusaders Clash

August 5, 2022

Head coach Neil Kelly has named his 21-man squad for Cornwall RLFC’s Betfred League 1 round 18 clash at home to North Wales Crusaders – Sunday, 3.00pm.

Not only will two competition points be up for grabs, but the Celtic Shield is on the line too. North Wales are the current holders of the Shield with one victory over Cornwall and a pair of triumphs over West Wales Raiders.

The Choughs will be looking to bounce back from their 46-6 defeat to London Skolars last time out. With a try and a goal, Adam Rusling scored all of Cornwall’s points in the capital.

Our opponents North Wales Crusaders travel to the Duchy sitting in second place, four points behind league leaders Keighley Cougars.

However, the Cougars have a game in hand on Anthony Murray’s men who look like they will have to settle for a play-off place.

Last time out, the Crusaders saw off a spirited Oldham Roughyeds side 29-16 at Whitebank. Oldham were 10-8 up at the break, but a second half showing, led by scrum-half Reece Briers, saw North Wales prevail.
