Completing a busy day of incomings for the Choughs, prop Jackson Walker has joined Cornwall RLFC on loan from Dewsbury Rams.

The former Dewsbury Moor Maroons forward, who moved to the Tetley’s Stadium for the 2022 campaign, will link up with the Choughs for two weeks. 

After Walker’s move to the Memorial Ground was rubber-stamped in time for Sunday’s home clash with West Wales Raiders, Cornwall head coach Neil Kelly revealed that the relationship he has with current Rams boss Lee Greenwood paved the way for the prop’s temporary move. 

“Dewsbury is a club I know very well and I regularly speak to their coach Lee Greenwood,” Kelly, who coached Dewsbury on two separate occasions previously, told cornwallrlfc.co.uk. “Jackson comes highly recommended by Lee and as a middle, he adds strength to an area where we have been effective so far this season.

“However, the injuries we have suffered to middles have led to us not having enough players for those positions. You can never have enough middles and I think Jackson will be another player off the production line that is tough and can do a job in that area.”
