Cornwall Announce Squad For West Wales Clash

June 23, 2022

Head coach Neil Kelly has named his squad for Cornwall RLFC’s Betfred League 1 round 12 clash away to West Wales Raiders.

Kelly has been able to name new signings Tom Ashton and Charley Bodman in his travelling party, with both players joining the club from Rochdale Hornets and Hunslet respectively this week.

However, the inclusion of Cornwall’s latest recruits has been tempered by Anthony Mullally and Luke Collins being unavailable through suspension. Former Super League Grand Final Mullally was banned for one game after being found guilty of dangerous contact in the June 4 home defeat at the hands of London Skolars.

Collins, meanwhile, is banned for two matches after he was sent to the sin bin for a late hit in the first half of Cornwall’s last game against league leaders Keighley Cougars. The Australian raised hooker was subsequently charged and was found guilty by the Rugby Football League’s Match Review Panel.

Prop Jack Ray (hand) will be pushing for a starting berth alongside Aaron Thomson (knee) and Sam Snell (quad) as the forward trio continue their return to full fitness.

Sam Gilder, who hasn’t featured since the away reverse at Swinton in May, is back in the squad. Harry Aaronson missed the loss at home to Keighley but he is in contention against the Raiders, who defeated Cornwall 20-0 at the Mem last month.
