June 28, 2023
The club were proud to support the Cornwall RLFC Foundation, in partnership with Cornish Rebels RLFC, in delivering another touch rugby league event for children in school years five and six.
On the back of successful touch rugby league days held in Penryn and Newuqay, this latest qualifier took place at the Recreation Ground, home of Redruth rugby union The Peninsula and Penwith school sports partnerships and organisers helped run the day along with the Choughs, Foundation and the Rebels.
Boys and girls from twelve primary schools throughout the South and West of Cornwall competed throughout the day with Archbishop Benson being the overall winners of the cup.
St Hilary school took the Plate in competitions filled with enthusiasm for and a really high standard of Rugby league across the board.
“The club and our delivery partners are committed to the development of Rugby League in the Duchy among children of all ages and we very much enjoy attending and delivering at these events as we have done for years, said Cornwall RLFC spokesperson Rob Butland.
“It is hugely exciting times for the sport here in Cornwall and we very much look forward to attending many more events in future.”
