Cornwall RLFC have extended half-back Adam Rusling’s loan move from Hull Kingston Rovers until the end of the 2022 Betfred League 1 campaign.

The talented teen initially joined the Choughs on a short-term deal for two weeks last month. He made his debut against West Wales Raiders on May 15 before excelling with a two-try return in Cornwall’s last fixture against Swinton Lions.

And during the recent break week due to the Betfred Challenge Cup Final, Cornwall chief Neil Kelly has secured Rusling’s services for the rest of his side’s maiden professional campaign.

“I am pleased that Adam will be staying with us,” Kelly told cornwallrlfc.co.uk. “It was a bit of a baptism of fire against West Wales but against Swinton, after a shortened six-day turnaround, Adam showed us what he’s all about.

“We are grateful to Hull Kingston Rovers for loaning us Adam for the rest of the season. The move will be beneficial for his development as a footballer and for ours as a club and new project.”

Despite his tender years, Rusling has Super League experience under his belt for previous permanent employers Castleford Tigers. Rusling made his top-flight bow for the Tigers, then coached by Daryl Powell, against Salford Red Devils in 2021.

During the 2022 close season, Rusling opted to leave the Jungle and move back to his home town of Hull to link up with Tony Smith’s Robins.

Rusling will be available for selection as Cornwall host London Skolars this coming Saturday, June 4 at the Memorial Ground – 3.00pm.
