Cornwall RLFC are delighted to announce that Adam Rusling has signed a new one-year contract, keeping him at the Memorial Ground for the 2024 Betfred League 1 campaign.

The 20-year-old former Hull Kingston Rovers playmaker, who has Super League experience with Castleford Tigers, was one of Cornwall’s stand out performers last term.

He played a starring role in four of the side’s five victories which included a double over London Skolars and single victories over Midlands Hurricanes and North Wales Crusaders.

Rusling, who hails from Humberside and cut his formative rugby league teeth with West Hull, finished 2023 as Cornwall’s top points scorer. In an overall tally of 79 points, he crossed the whitewash four times, kicked 31 goals and bagged the Choughs’ first, and to date only, field goal.
“Personally this is a good move for me because towards the end of last season we really started building,” he told cornwallrlfc.co.uk.

“I can’t wait to get started again with the boys, hopefully dig deep, and have another good season. We have spoken about our ambitions for 2024 as a group and although we are not going to talk publicly about our aims and aspirations, we aspire to kick-on.

“Overall, I think the fans should be excited at what is to come in 2024.”

Meanwhile, Cornwall RLFC head coach Mike Abbott, added: “Adam led us around the park last season and was key in us winning three out of four games in July.

“He struck up a brilliant partnership with Cam Brown and we saw how they both helped the other and their respective games kick on. Like many of our team, we hope that Adam can rediscover his form from last season, but push on to the next level.

“Every team needs a leader in the halves and for such a young lad, we are very lucky to have Adam back with us for 2024.”
